June 19, 2001The official JUDAS PRIEST web site has posted a bunch of photos online that were taken at the group's concert in London, UK on Friday, June 15th. You can check them out here.
SLIPKNOT are tentatively scheduled to release a DVD through Roadrunner in November of this year. According to the label's official web site, the DVD will feature all-new, original material, the footage for which will presumably be filmed during the group's current Ozzfest trek and the band's upcoming Pledge Of Allegiance tour with SYSTEM OF A DOWN. More details as they become available.
SPYS4DARWIN drummer Sean Kinney (ALICE IN CHAINS) and guitarist Chris DeGarmo (ex-QUEENSRYCHE) will be in the KNDD studios Wednesday morning (8:00 AM PST),June 20th to discuss the group's upcoming activities, including their debut live appearance at the Endfest 10 and any other topics that come to mind. KNDD can be heard locally at FM 107.7 or on the web at this location. SPYS4DARWIN's line-up is completed by bassist Mike Inez (ALICE IN CHAINS) and vocalist Vin Dombroski (ex-SPONGE).
MACHINE HEAD will be making their first live appearances of the year during August, when they're scheduled to play in Korea on the 23rd and the previously announced Beast Feast Festival in Tokyo on August 25th and 26th (also featuring SLAYER, PANTERA, BIOHAZARD and many others),to be followed by a 4-6 week US trek with POWERMAN 5000, SALIVA and STEREOMUD, which is tentatively scheduled to begin on September 11th. In related news, a multi-part MACHINE HEAD 'miniseries' of sorts will debut via the group's official web site during August, documenting the recording of Supercharger, which is currently being mixed by producer Colin Richardson at Cam-Am Studios in Tarzana, California.
SKINLAB have started recording the vocal tracks to their forthcoming third full-length effort, tentatively titled tHEreVOLTINGROOM>>dISTURBING tHE aRT oF eXPRESSION<<, at Trident Studios in San Francisco, California. The band are currently laying down 11 tracks with producers Steve Evetts (i.e SEPULTURA, EARTH CRISIS) and Juan Ortega (i.e. 40 GRIT),and they hope to have the finished product released sometime in October through Century Media Records. In related news, the other members of Bush's 'part-time band' ARMORED SAINT are said to be keeping busy during the group's down time, with drummer Gonzo reportedly having started work on a solo project that will go by the name MONSTER G. The skinsman is also said to be writing material with brother Phil Sandoval (also of ARMORED SAINT),which is being described as 'some of the heaviest, creative stuff they've worked on in a very long time'.

TEAM SLEEP, the side project of DEFTONES frontman Chino Moreno and his friends, DJ Crook and guitarist Todd Wilkenson, are reportedly close to finishing work on their as-yet-untitled disc, which they've been recording in Seattle with producer Terry Date (i.e. DEFTONES, PANTERA, MACHINE HEAD). The album, which will feature guest appearances from DEFTONES members Abe Cunningham (drums),Stephen Carpenter (guitar) and Frank Delgado (turntables),is tentatively scheduled to be released through Maverick Recordings in early 2002. In related news, KUSH, the side project of DEFTONES guitarist Stephen Carpenter—which also features in its ranks FEAR FACTORY bassist Christian Olde Wolbers, FF drummer Raymond Herrera and CYPRESS HILL frontman B-Real—may be forced to change their name to DR. KUSH due to possible trademark issues. The group's already-completed debut album is tentatively scheduled to emerge through an as-yet-undetermined label sometime next year.

Finally, Abe Cunningham's former musical project, PHALLUCY, a band that he briefly joined after temporarily leaving the DEFTONES in the early '90s, will have its long-ago-recorded debut remixed and issued in a limited edition of 1,000 copies via the DEFTONES' official web site later this summer.
LIMP BIZKIT have canceled the five remaining dates of the European leg of their Anger Management Tour, beginning with Tuesday's Berlin, Germany show, due to frontman Fred Durst's back ailments. Here is the band's official statement on the matter in its entirety:

'It is with great regret and apologies to all their fans that the members of LIMP BIZKIT are forced to announce the cancellation of the five remaining dates on their current Anger Management Tour in Europe.

'Lead singer Fred Durst has suffered an increasingly painful & distressing back injury. After consultation with a number of Doctors & Orthopedic Specialists over the past ten days, Durst was told that a 'mandatory' rest period of at least two weeks was needed from all physical activities to allow the injury, identified by MRI as a 'stress fracture to the fifth lumbar vertebrae' to begin to heal. He will then undergo a period of gradual recovery and physical rehabilitation.

'Unfortunately, due to prior commitments and scheduling problems, the remaining five dates in Germany, Switzerland, Britain and Eire are unlikely to be rescheduled at this time.

NORA vocalist Carl Severson has recorded a guest appearance on the track 'One Word' for the forthcoming debut album from Alaska's 36 CRAZYFISTS, entitled Bitterness The Star, which is due to emerge through Roadrunner Records later in the year. The soon-to-be-mixed CD also features an appearance by SKINLAB frontman Steev Esquivel, who guests on the track 'Bury Me Where I Fall'.
The UK's MEDULLA NOCTE were forced to cancel their scheduled appearance as the support act for CROWBAR at Bradford's Rio club after all their guitar gear was stolen in Sunday, June 17th. Former KROKUS vocalist Marc Storace is reportedly working on his first solo CD.
The RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS will receive the Buddy Award, named for MAP founder, Buddy Arnold, for their continued support of the Musician's Assistance Program (MAP) at the second annual MAPAwards at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on November 7th. MAP provides drug and alcohol addiction treatment for musicians, regardless of their financial condition. The MAP Awards will be hosted by actress/singer Katy Sagal and THELONIOUS MONSTER/THE BICYCLE THIEF frontman Bob Forrest, a longtime friend of the CHILI PEPPERS who is also a recovering addict.
Due to the unspecified illness of guitarist Stacey Blades, ROXX GANG have cancelled their scheduled shows at Carlie's in Pinellas Park, FL on June 22nd and July 6th. The band expects Stacey to be fully recovered in time to play the date scheduled for July 27th.
